Living and depicting nature, not as a spectator but feeling at one with its strength and vitality. Liberating, on canvas, colours and markings which follow the unstoppable engine of regeneration and continuous new creation. “Why do I depict nature in an abstract way? In nature, there is no symbolism, nature is a continuous flux of pure energy which passes through matter.” This is how Lodovico Berardinelli speaks about his work, a movement towards abstraction, looking to artists such as Pollock, De Koonig and Tancredi. Described as a “gestual balance”, his work approaches and displays the macro and micro world which surrounds him. Lodovico Berardinelli was born in Cortina d’Ampezzo (province of Belluno), and grew up in a family for which art had been central for generations. After getting his ‘Liceo Artistico’ secondary school qualification in Venice, he continued his training in various settings. He obtained a diploma in Museology and Scenography from the University of Art in Venice, he attended a preparatory painting course and a course in Art Marketing at the Academy of Fine Arts, and he obtained a goldsmith qualification at the Vicenza School of Art and Crafts. For a number of years he was involved in exhibitions with the Piranesi artistic circle, in Mogliano Veneto. Furthermore, he also participated in the Swatch Street Painting Tour. He lives and works in Treviso.
