Thursday 8 January 2015 PAINTING 5.30 pm – admission free

The gaze turned upon reality and the surprise-cum-shock of discovery, the eye that settles on a detail, isolates it, collects it, and the hand that transfers it to the canvas, makes it self-sufficient and “other”, whether it be part of a body, a scrap of clothing, an object … a work of pictorial transmigration from the real to the imaginary, performed with a refined touch of paint, applied in layers and washes that unveil then hide the image and engage the eye and the emotions. Francesca Zucca was born in Trieste and graduated from Venice’s Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Carlo Di Raco. She has been exhibiting since 2003. She can count, among her exhibitions, her participation in the event “Le cose hanno il potere che tu gli dai” (Things have the power you give them) in 2011 in the Spazio Thetis within the Venice Arsenal. She lives and works in Venice and Trieste.
