Thursday 26 February 2015 PAINTING 5.30 pm – admission free

Bodies, faces and landscapes that transmigrate to the canvas, recombining in a mental and physical journey that puts at the focus of his research not so much the subject of the painting as much as its making, the paint, the gesture. A path leading deep into the act of painting, addressed with heavy, flicked brushstrokes that pile up in a fleshy stratification that also envelopes other material, dust and pigments, in an alternation of darkness and light. Art as reflection and illusion, of conception and movement, art that uses paint to build another world, a “cosmos” in which the human being is a living, and vital presence. Edoardo Veneziano was born in Treviso. Having attended an arts upper secondary school, where he studied under Francesco Michielin, he would turn his attention to philosophy, graduating at the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. He worked for a number of years in the workshop of landscape painter Paolino Libralato, and had the opportunity to work as a scenery painter and assistant on a number of films and theatrical productions.
He is also active as a designer, illustrator and decorator. He lives and works in Venice.
