Saturday 22 December 2012 5.00 p.m. – Free admission - Photography

An encounter with two interesting photographers from Veneto with different techniques and themes who nonetheless both have excellent quality and a distinctive individual style to offer.

Paola Viola puts together outstanding reports in Africa and the Middle East. In addition to their documentary purposes, they also serve to promote and support the charity initiatives for children in the developing world to which the photographer has always actively contributed. Her intense pictures of life in those distant countries seem to be seen through the eyes of the children to whom she devotes her time and energy.

Paola Viola will present her latest book: “Non dire Nulla: Racconto fotografico da Isiolo – Kenya” (published by Programma, April 2012).

Stefano Martin has a distinctive expressive approach and visual taste when depicting the theme of water.

He uses a special photographic technique called “long exposure” which alters the visual perception of liquid surfaces, so in his marine and lagoon landscapes the perpetual motion of water seems to get out of focus and dissolve until it comes to a complete stop, giving his works a surreal feel and a striking atmosphere that involves onlookers on an emotional level.

Martin was born in Treviso, where he still lives today. He has taken part in a large number of solo and group exhibitions, for which he has always enjoyed great praise. He takes sports photos for reports and he has been the official photographer of the Venice Marathon for years.

Exhibition prepared by Andrea Zaccarelli

The works will remain on display until 16 January 2013
