PERSONAL EXHIBITION BY UZIA OGRABEK
Profound painting from the deep, with poetry of spreading colour, fields, horizons, horses, sunny silences and flame reds, memories and sensations. Uzia Ograbek was born in Krakow and she has been living and breathing art since her childhood with an art historian mother and a sculptor grandfather, Adam Zan. After gaining a degree in Painting Restoration at the Academy of Fine Art in Krakow, she headed to Venice, where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Art. In 2002 came her first show, which was followed by solo and group exhibitions all over Italy and in other countries. In 2006, the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation presented her with the Veneto Region Special Contribution award for Research into the Territory and in 2009 she participated in an exhibition at the New Century Art Gallery in New York with a group of artists known as the Emotionalists. Her painting work is based on a mix of soft and brighter colours. It is in keeping with nature, the emotions conveyed by vast expanses, the meeting of the heavens and the earth, and the vital presence of the sun. Uzia lives and works in Mestre (Venice). In her studio, she teaches painting to adults and children.
