ALDO VIANELLO “EFFETTI BASAGLIANI” (“BASAGLIAN EFFECTS”)
This new book by Aldo Vianello, who himself spent time in a psychiatric ward, is naturally associated with Franco Basaglia. Basaglia was a psychiatrist who committed to reorganising psychiatric help within hospitals and on a regional level, proposing a movement away from the logic which reigned at the time. Aldo Vianello has just celebrated half a century of writing. He began his work in 1964 with the collection of poems “Timide Passioni” and in 2013 he published “Sequenze di Vita Illustrata”, a book of prose in which he spoke about his own life. In between there have been dozens of titles which have earned him international attention. The London publishing house Anvil Press Poetry published two volumes of his work Time of Flower (1968) and Selected Poems (2008), both presented in parallel text (Italian – English).
